Ace Biorefining is working towards market implementation of TNO’s unique Fabiola biorefining technology. The next-generation biorefinery is capable of processing a variety of biomass residues into cellulose fiber, sugars, and high-quality lignin. These high-quality intermediates can be utilized in, among others, building materials (paints, coatings, adhesives and insulation materials), packaging, bioplastics, batteries, cosmetics and textiles.
The TTT-GT voucher helped boost our activities by enabling pilot-scale biorefining of beech wood to produce samples for industrial partners for application testing (biobased adhesives, composites, green chemicals) and to generate potential product offtake interests. In addition, the processing delivered valuable engineering data for process design and modeling.
Ace Biorefining is currently building the business case to attract interested investors to fund the next step in upscaling and commercialization of the green technology.
