Bone and joint disorders are highly common conditions. These conditions can involve reduced bone mechanical strength, and elevated or reduced blood circulation inside bone. Today, these changes can only de diagnosed with x-ray, magnetic resonance or nuclear imaging, which are pricy and/or ionizing technologies. Currently, clinical ultrasound scanners cannot produce an image inside bone. We are developing a new ultrasound technology that will unlock imaging of bone mechanical strength and blood flow inside bone. Our long-term ambition is to develop a technology that will enable ultrasound imaging everywhere in a human body. We wish to improve the quality and the efficiency of healthcare, and patient comfort, with a safe, portable and affordable diagnostic modality.
