Carbyon develops technology to capture CO2 from atmospheric air. The company was founded in 2019 as a spin-off company from TNO. Carbyon develops a unique concept that is based on thin-film layers of CO2 sorbents, lowering the costs of direct air capture compared to existing technologies.
This technology can provide a cost-effective source of renewable CO2 to manufacture e-fuels that can replace fossil oil and gas. It can also be used for negative emissions which will be needed to limit global warming and meet the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement.
