This project aims to serve a need clearly defined and acknowledged by medical professionals in the Netherlands. Magnetic surgical robotics has been a prominent emerging technological alternative to open surgeries in the search to reduce patient trauma and recovery time. University of Twente spin-off Flux Robotics is working on an innovative medical technology that allows surgeons to increase their surgical dexterity on disposable tools. This technology combines the benefits of robotic manipulators and magnetic actuation. It alleviates the drawbacks of traditional, open surgeries, resulting in a better outcome for patients and more accessibility for their surgeons.
