With a TTT GreenTech business development voucher, TU Delft carried out market validation for its innovative sulfide solid-state electrolyte technology. The voucher supported customer outreach, the identification of a beach-head market and the development of a roadmap towards commercialisation. This process pointed to eVTOLs, premium EVs, drones and humanoid robots as promising target markets, all of which demand batteries with higher energy density and improved safety. Building on these results, TU Delft spin-off Thionics B.V. was founded to further develop and bring the technology to market.
